Park City To Provo

So, Will and I were able to backpack all the way from my parent's house in Summit Park, Park City, (which is the house I grew up in), all the way to our own front door here in Provo. It was about 65 miles total in 4 days. Pretty crazy. It ended up being incredibly difficult and there were times when I really didn't think I was going to make it all the way. In those times of immense pain, I had one solution that helped me to continue: IBUPROFEN. For real, I never would have made it without it. As hard as it was though, it was incredibly rewarding and beautiful. I have some pics below, but if you want a real Trip Report go HERE and read my husband's :) He is WAY more thorough than I have time to be. ;)

Ruth Lake

We took the kids on their first backpacking trip to Ruth Lake. They did so good! Unfortunately we only were able to stay one night since 'L' boy's ear infection came back and he had a miserable night :( Anyways, they still had fun.

Soccer!

Soccer started last week! W and E are both playing and doing awesome. W was a little bit nervous, but once she got used to it she has been running up and down the field and even going after the ball. She stopped two shots as goalie yesterday too.

E is also doing awesome. The kindergartners play on smaller fields but she is just running and kicking and having fun. Here's some pics:

President's Day

On President's Day, since everyone had it off, we decided to take advantage of a BYU Wellness activity they were having at Aspen Grove. It was a family snowshoeing/cross country skiing day for ages 4 and up. Since 'R' is only 3 we had Grandma come to hang out with her and 'L' while we took the other two girls snowshoeing. Overall we had quite a bit of fun. 'E' gets tired easily and wanted to take a lot of breaks on the 15 min circle of a hike, but in the end she had fun and did good. 'W' was right up there with her dad going and having fun, Here's some pics I took:

If this link works, HERE you can go to Will's google+ page and click on his  'Snowshoeing at Aspen Grove today.'  video. We had fun!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

So here is how our Valentine goodness turned out. It started a couple of days ago when we made these for all of their friends at school:

I let them pick something non candy to give out and we kind of made up a cute little saying to go with the 'sticky hands'.

On Valentine's Eve I made them this for dinner:
toast with a heart shaped egg inside:

For Valentine morning we decorated the table for them to wake up to:

Here is what 'W' got:
oh and it's banana bread with a heart cut out of it, a chocolate dipped strawberry, yogurt and a little pineapple strawberry fruit arrangement for each of them. Their dad got them each a book as well.

Here is what 'E' got:

This is 'L' and 'R''s

They enjoyed it!

'L' woke up last and liked it too. ;)

At school they passed out Valentines and brought home way more treats than they ever need, but of course they were so excited.

Oh and this is how I did 'E''s hair today as well for 'heart day' ;)

Tonight my mom is coming to watch the kids so we can go out to dinner and a movie. We usually don't go out on Valentine's, but it is Friday and we have a gift card to go out and eat at Denny's. Romantic, I know. Oh and we will be going to the $1 theater, which is actually the $2 theater, but whatever.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

Uneventful

So I decided that I must just be a blogger of events. Which is fine I guess, but that means nothing very eventful happened all of January. I seriously have hardly any pics from last month and I always like to have a pic when I post. We are all doing well. L boy is FINALLY TALKING more and he now says MAMA and DADA which is so stinkin' cute. At 18 mos he had a grand total of 4 words, but now he might have about 10, a month later. He does have over 15 signs so he is still doing good. He has been in the Early Intervention Program here and it is great, but at the same time they can't really do a whole lot to get him talking, I am still the one doing all the work, as opposed to the therapist, and he will progress as fast as he wants to, but he has made a lot of progress anyhow. Oh and get this, we got a form to be able to claim him as 'disabled' for state taxes since he is in this program, which just sounds wrong because he's not, but we got an extra like $250 back on taxes so I'm not complaining. I can't wait to get our tax refunds though, it will be so nice and we'll be able to hopefully get new car soon too.

So here is one of the only pics I took last month, 'R' girl let me do her hair cute. Her curly locks do not grow very fast but she wants me to do her hair like her sisters. I did the other girl's hair like this too but I never took pics. I need to remember to take pics more I guess. ;)

Anyways, everyone is getting excited for Valentine's Day! I'm letting the girls pick a cute homemade valentine to give out this year. ;)
